Plans and Pricing

Home Master Warranty currently offers three plans: Appliance Coverage, System Coverage, and Premium Coverage.

Appliance Coverage:

This plan is $19.99 a month and covers your basic home appliances, like dishwasher, microwave, and washer/dryer.

System Coverage:

This plan is $34.99 and covers home systems like ceiling fans, AC, heating system, and more. It doesn’t cover any appliances.

Premium Coverage:

This plan is $49.99 and covers everything under the Appliance and System plans. By purchasing this combo plan instead of purchasing the Appliance and System plans separately, you save 20% ($4.99).

In addition to these plans, Home Master Warranty also offers plan bundles, which combine their home warranty plans with their electronics plans (e.g. laptops, TVs, etc) and smart home coverage (e.g. doorbells, security cameras, etc), which adds much more flexibility in coverage.

When buying any of their warranty plans, there are add-on options, like central vacuum system, heat pump, septic system, and more.

Additionally, there is a standard 30-day waiting period after purchasing a plan in which there is no coverage.

Service Fees

Home Master Warranty charges a $75 service fee per claim or the actual repair cost—whichever is less.

This fee is paid directly to the contractor at the time of visit.

Payout Caps

Home Master Warranty will only cover a certain amount, depending on what needs to be repaired or replaced.

They’ll cover up to $1,000 per system per contract year, which covers cooling and heating systems, Central AC and heating, and additional AC units.

For appliances and other systems, Home Master Warranty will cover up to $500 per appliance per contract year.

Make sure to read their full terms and conditions to see all payment caps as well as cap exceptions. For older systems and appliances (10 years or older), the coverage cap amount can be less.

For example, while they’ll normally cover up to $500 per appliance, if the appliance is over 10 years old and the repair is over $300 or parts are not available to make the repair, you’ll receive a $300 allowance.

The maximum amount Home Master Warranty will pay per single claim is $5,000. The maximum amount they’ll pay for all claims during the coverage year is $5,000.

For example, if you click or hover over the Built-In Microwave under their Appliance Coverage Plan on their website, you’ll see that this includes the door interlock electrical switch, touch pad/controller, diode, control board, and so on. You’ll also see that parts like clocks, filters, door handle, and countertop units are not included.

Their Terms and Conditions page offers a full review of what is and isn’t covered by your plan, including the case of fire, theft, and natural disasters, which aren’t covered.

Claims & Repairs

To file a claim, you can make a service call during their business hours or you can file a claim online 24/7.

Once the claim has been submitted, Home Master Warranty will contact a contractor in their network within two days during normal business hours and four days on weekends and holidays.

The contractor will contact you to schedule an appointment during business hours.

For emergency repairs, Home Master Warranty will determine what constitutes an emergency and will make the best effort to provide service as quickly as possible, but there are no guarantees for expedited services.

Home Master Warranty considers anything that renders a dwelling uninhabitable to be an emergency, like loss of heating, cooling, plumbing, or electrical services. Appliance failure is not considered an emergency.
