Terms, Rates and Fees

This credit card offers an introductory 0% annual percentage rate (APR) for the first 21 billing cycles after opening an account. After that, the APR switches to a variable rate ranging from 18.74% to 29.74%, depending on creditworthiness. There is no penalty APR.
The U.S. Bank Visa Platinum Card does not have an annual fee.

Other rates and fees include:

  • 29.99% APR on cash advances
  • 3% or $5 fee for balance transfers and check cash advances (whichever is higher)
  • 5% or $10 fee for other cash advances (whichever is higher)
  • 3% foreign transaction fee
  • $41 late payment fee

Although the variable APR can be relatively high, this card's general terms and conditions are reasonable.

Maximize Benefits and Avoid Fees

  • Transfer your balance in the first 60 days: You won’t have to pay a fee during this time. The transferred amount will also benefit from the 0% introductory interest rate, a solid first-year value extending into the second year.
