CuraDebt Debt Relief Terms & Requirements

CuraDebt offers debt settlement, debt consolidation, and debt relief services. They work through a network of lending partners and the terms of loans and settlements are not disclosed on their website. If, after consulting with you, they think debt consolidation is the best course of action and you meet the requirements, they’ll submit your information to their partner lenders. If they feel that other options will be better, they’ll explain why as well.

The best way to learn more about their services is to call them directly or fill out their Get Your Free Savings Estimate form on their homepage so they can get in touch with you.

How to Apply

The quote and application process begins on the CuraDebt website, where you can fill out a very brief form.

Once you submit the form you are instructed to call to speak with a CuraDebt senior counselor for a full evaluation and quote.

Qualification Requirements

There are different qualification requirements depending on the service you choose, but below are the requirements for a debt loan with CuraDebt partner lenders:

Loan Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen or permanent resident.
  • Must have a bank account and $4,000 monthly income.
  • 700 credit score minimum.
  • No late payments in the past two years.
  • Nothing in collections.

Loan Terms

  • Loan amounts vary depending on the lender.
  • APR ranges from 8% – 18%.

Repayment Terms

  • Varies depending on the lender.

Required Information

The quote and consultation process begins by filling out the online form on CuraDebt’s website. You’ll be asked for your name, email address, phone number, amount of debt, and the state you live in. Once you submit the form you’re asked to contact CuraDebt via telephone to speak with a counselor. They do not specify what information will be needed for this consultation, but it is safe to assume you’ll need the following at a minimum:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Date of birth
  • Proof of identity (Driver’s license, passport, ID card)
  • Phone number
  • Credit score
  • Social security number
  • Bank account information
  • Proof of income
  • Debt documents

Application Steps & Time Frames

CuraDebt doesn’t have any specifics regarding the onboarding process listed on their website. To get more details on the debt consolidation program and whether you qualify you must speak with a debt counselor over the phone or in person at their Florida offices. During the consultation process, you’ll be asked a series of questions regarding your current debts and financial situation to determine if CuraDebt’s services are right for you. If you do qualify, they will make a debt settlement plan for you and provide instructions on how to begin saving for future debt settlement. On average, they claim it takes 24 to 48 months to pay off all your unsecured debts. Note that acceptance into their program is dependent on meeting the requirements of their lenders.

Associated Fees

CuraDebt works on a flat rate fee, and there are no additional or hidden fees once the case is taken and an agreement is signed.

Process & Time Frame

CuraDebt has a five step process in place that they use to solve your tax debt issues. Once you complete the initial assessment they can begin working on these steps immediately after you sign an agreement with them. The process they follow is similar to other tax relief agencies. The steps are as follows:

  1. Consultation – Meet with a tax professional to gather the details of the case.
  2. Investigation – When needed, a tax professional (when appropriate) requests an immediate stay of enforcement with the IRS or State. Next, a financial analysis is done to identify current and projected financials under IRS (and/or State standards), the master tax file is pulled, tax transcripts are obtained, CuraDebt tax professional reviews them, penalty abatements qualifications are checked, statute of limitations on collection of tax debts are evaluated, possible resolutions (IA, CNC, PPIA, OIC, other) with pros and cons of each are detailed, and a final recommended resolution or resolutions are provided.
  3. Compliance – Missing tax returns are filed (or ones with mistakes are amended).
  4. Negotiation with the IRS – CuraDebt’s tax team begins the negotiation process with the tax authorities to achieve the best tax reduction for your case.
  5. Tax audit representation – If necessary, CuraDebt can provide representation at a tax audit.

Application & Handling Process

The application process begins with submitting the online form to request a free consultation.

Once that is submitted you are asked to call to speak with a tax account executive for a free quote.

Required Information

You can start the quote request process easily online. The short form begins by asking for your name, email address, phone number, tax debt amount, and the state you live in. You must also agree to be contacted by CuraDebt via telephone, email, or SMS. Once you submit that form they ask you to call them to speak with a tax account executive for a free quote. There are no details at this point regarding other documents that you might need to provide.

Customer Support

CuraDebt makes it very easy to get answers to your questions, with support staff available via telephone, email, live chat, or you can visit their offices in Florida if you happen to be in the neighborhood. We chose to contact them via telephone, email, and chat to see how responsive they are, and how well they were able to answer some basic questions regarding their services.

We found that the response was quick for all three contact methods, although we did wait several days for an email response. If you need a quick answer it’s best to contact them on the telephone or via the live chat link on their website. Note that support staff is available 9:00 – 20:00 EST during the week, with limited Saturday hours. They are closed on Sunday.

In each interaction we found the staff to be knowledgeable and professional, however they did seem most interested in scheduling a consultation. That’s understandable, since that’s how they get new clients. Overall the support from CuraDebt was among the best we’ve encountered.

Privacy & Security

CuraDebt is an accredited member of the American Fair Credit Council (AFCC) and is a certified member of the International Association of Debt Arbitrators (IAPDA). Their Privacy Policy states that they maintain the latest encryption standards to protect user data, and that they don’t give this information to third parties without your consent.

In Conclusion

The good thing about CuraDebt is that they’re a well-established firm, having been around for nearly two decades, and they have solid accreditations. Many companies touting solutions to alleviate debt can come off as a bit sketchy, but CuraDebt has generally positive reviews online.

We feel it may be worth scheduling a free consultation to see what options are available to handle your debt, or if another one of their services is more suitable to your financial situation.
