Rewards Redemption

To redeem your Capital One Quicksilver Student Cash Rewards Credit Card’s points, you can request them in the form of a check, as a gift card, or as a statement on your balance. Or you can set up automatic redemption, which occurs on specific dates or once you’ve accumulated enough points.
You can also use your rewards at Amazon, through PayPal, or via Capital One Shopping. Rewards never expire except in the event of account closure.

Terms, Rates and Fees

Capital One’s Quicksilver Student Cash Rewards Credit Card comes with a variable APR ranging from 19.99% to 29.99%, depending on creditworthiness and the current Prime Rate. It’s designed for students with a Fair credit rating or better.
With this card, there are no annual fees or foreign transaction fees. There may be a 3% balance transfer fee, however. Cash advances come with a $3 or 3% fee, whichever is greater. There is also a late payment fee of $40.

The required minimum payment depends on the current balance. Generally, it’s either $25 or 1% of your balance plus any interest charges, past-due amounts, or related fees. For the most part, these fees are fairly standard for a card like this.

Maximize Benefits and Avoid Fees

Here’s how to get the most out of this card and avoid any fees:

  • Spend at least $100 in the first 3 months of opening an account to receive a one-time value offer of $50.
  • For an ongoing value benefit, pay off the full account balance every month to avoid potentially high interest charges.
  • Make all payments on time to avoid late charges and build credit.
  • Make qualifying purchases through Uber Eats or Uber (via the app) to earn up to 10% cash back.
  • Prioritize purchases made through Capital One Travel — such as on rental cars and hotels — to earn 5% cash back.
  • For the greatest ongoing value, use this card for everyday purchases to earn 1.5% unlimited cash back and pay off the full balance each month.
