Terms, Rates and Fees
The U.S. Bank Altitude Connect Visa Signature Credit Card has a variable APR ranging from 18.24% to 29.24%, depending on overall creditworthiness and the current market and prime rate. Balance transfers have the same APR range. Cash advances have 32.24% APR and a fee of 5% of each advance amount, $10 minimum. There is no penalty APR.
There is no annual fee for the first year. After that, cardholders are subject to a $95 annual fee.
Other fees include:

- 3% convenience check cash advance fee
- 5% cash advance fee + a fee of 5% of each advance amount, $10 minimum.
- There are no overdraft fees or foreign transaction fees.
- The U.S. Bank ExtendPay plan has a monthly fee of up to 1.6%.
- There’s also a $41 late payment or returned payment fee.

Maximize Benefits and Avoid Fees
- Do not carry a balance: By paying off your balance, you won’t be hit with APR.
- Spend $2,000 within 120 days: Part of this card’s first-year value includes spending this amount to receive 50,000 bonus points.
- Be strategic about how you earn points: You can earn the most points by booking prepaid hotels and car rentals through Altitude Rewards Center, or by using this card to get gas. If, for example, you use the card on travel-related purchases and spend $1,500 each month, you could earn up to 90,000 yearly points for a total value of about $90. Gas points are worth slightly less than travel points, but can still add up quickly.
- Take advantage of cell phone protection: As long as you pay for your cell phone with this card, you can receive a $600 reimbursement if your phone is damaged or stolen.
