Rewards Redemption

You can redeem points through the Rewards Center, which is found in the online banking system. Or you can log into the mobile app, select your Altitude Connect account, and choose either “View my rewards” or “Redeem.” Alternatively, you can call 888-229-8864, the all-day Rewards Center.
Points never expire. To earn cash back, you'll need at least 2,500 points, however.

Terms, Rates and Fees

The U.S. Bank Altitude Connect Visa Signature Credit Card has a variable APR ranging from 21.24% to 29.24%, depending on overall creditworthiness and the current market and prime rate. Balance transfers have the same APR range. Cash advances have 29.99% APR. There is no penalty APR.

During the first year of opening the account, there is no annual fee. After that, cardholders are subject to a $95 annual fee.

Other fees include a 3% balance transfer fee, a 3% convenience check cash advance fee, and a 5% cash advance fee. There are no overdraft fees or foreign transaction fees. However, there is up to a 1.6% monthly fee for the U.S. Bank ExtendPay plan. There’s also a $41 late payment or returned payment fee.

There is no specified credit limit, though members with excellent credit may qualify for a higher limit. It may also be possible to request a higher limit some time after opening the account.

Overall, these fees and APR ranges are fairly standard for similar cards.

Maximize Benefits and Avoid Fees

  • Do not carry a balance. By paying off your balance, you won’t be hit with APR.
  • Spend $2,000 within 120 days. Part of this card’s first-year value includes spending this amount to receive 50,000 bonus points.
  • Be strategic about how you earn points. You can earn the most points by booking prepaid hotels and car rentals through Altitude Rewards Center, or by using this card to get gas. If, for example, you use the card on travel-related purchases and spend $1,500 each month, you could earn up to 90,000 yearly points for a total value of about $90. Gas points are worth slightly less than travel points, but can still add up quickly.
  • Take advance of the cell phone protection. As long as you pay for your cell phone with this card, you can receive a $600 reimbursement if your phone is damaged or stolen.

How to Apply

  • First, head to the U.S. Bank main page and select “Personal.”
  • Then, choose “Credit cards” and select “View credit cards.”
  • Scroll down until you find U.S. Bank Altitude Connect Visa Signature Card. Select “learn more” for additional information, or click “Apply Now” to start the application.
  • After hitting “Apply,” provide your SSN or ITIN and mobile number. You can then either press “Text me to start” or “I’ll enter my own info.”
  • If you select “I’ll enter my own info,” you’ll need to include your date of birth, address, monthly housing payment amount, and country of citizenship. Press save and continue with the application.
  • On the next page, it will ask for your total annual income and source of employment. Depending on your selection, you may also need to enter occupational details. If you select “Unemployed,” you’ll need to describe your most recent occupation.
  • Next, you’ll have the option of transferring a balance. If you decide to do this, you’ll need to give an estimate of how much to transfer.
  • Finally, review your information, make any changes, and complete the application. You could receive a decision in as little as 60 seconds.
