Terms, Rates and Fees

The U.S. Bank Altitude Go Visa Signature Credit Card comes with a 0% introductory APR for the first year for balance transfers and regular purchases. After that, the card switches to a variable rate ranging from 18.24% to 29.24%.
There is no penalty APR. However, cash advances come with a 29.99% variable APR.
This card also comes with several types of fees, most of which are standard in the industry. To begin with, there is no annual fee, overdraft protection fee, or foreign transaction fee.
There is a 3% or $5 balance transfer fee (whichever is higher), though. Other fees include a convenience check cash advance of 3% or $5, ATM cash advance fee of 5% or $10, and a $1 minimum interest charge. There’s also a $41 late payment or returned payment fee.
The credit limit depends on the borrower’s income and credit history. The better your credit score and income, the higher your limit tends to be.
Overall, these terms seem reasonable for the type of credit card this is. However, other credit cards may have a longer introductory APR period or higher bonuses.

Maximize Benefits and Avoid Fees

  • Take advantage of the bonus points. The first-year welcome bonus is worth roughly $200, and is relatively easy to earn. Simply spend $1,000 within 90 days of opening the account.
  • Use the balance transfer introductory rate. An ongoing value for the first year is the 0% introductory rate on balance transfers and everyday purchases. If you have another credit card with a hefty balance, transfer it to this card and pay it back within this window to avoid interest fees.
  • Use the 4x points. By making purchases at restaurants or grocery stores, you can earn up to 4x the amount of points per dollar spent. For example, if you spend $1,000 a month on dining or restaurant delivery, you could earn up to $680 for the year in cash back or merchandise. If you regularly spend the same amount on groceries and gas, you could earn up to $440 in cash back for the year.
  • Keep your balance at $0. The variable APR can be high, so pay off your balance in full every month to avoid fees. During the first year, you have more leeway with this due to the introductory period.
