Plans and Pricing
There are three plans that you will come across when it comes to AHW. The Essential Appliances Plan covers all of the essential appliances in your home, such as dishwasher, refrigerator, oven/range/stove, clothes washer and dryer, and more. It costs $42 per month.
The Major Systems Plan covers eight of the most important systems that are in your home. This includes the likes of your electrical and central heating systems, water heater, jetted bathtub, plumbing, and more. It costs $42 per month.
Finally, the Combo Plan combines the most important systems and appliances in your home together into the same plan, thus providing the most comprehensive coverage. It includes up to 28 items in the home, including the most common systems and appliances. It also covers attic and bathroom fans, kitchen and exhaust fans, garbage disposal, and more. It costs $52 per month or $579 per year.
There are also some add-ons that will cost extra if you choose to include them in your respective plan. They include the likes of pool, septic system, water heater, and water softener. At times, there will be offers that will see you getting a discount on your annual plan or getting the first month of your plan for free.
Service Fees
When a service professional has to visit your home to assess the problem with your appliance or home system, there will be an additional service fee that you have to pay. This will be a standards service fee of $75, which is about standard for the home warranty sector.
Payout Caps
For all plans, there is a max payout per contract term of $1,500. However, a few different systems have exceptions. For example, air conditioning systems have a $2,500 cap, which is a higher cap than other certain home warranty brands offer. Furthermore, they don’t have a cap on freon, whereas other companies normally do have a cap. This is a great benefit as part of AHW’s HVAC coverage. Electric system repairs have a $500 cap per contract term, while plumbing systems will also have a $500 cap. Appliance caps are set at $1,500. As for water heaters, AHW does not include a cap at all.
Coverage
As soon as you take out a home warranty policy at AHW, you will have your coverage started 30 days after you have successfully made your payment. This period can be waived if you show proof of coverage from another provider.
It will then cover you for 12 months from the start of the coverage period. You will get coverage no matter the age of the system or appliance once they are in good working condition at the effective date of your home warranty plan.

Final Thoughts
AHW offers three different plans. The pricing is pretty competitive, but as with any home warranty company, it’s important to thoroughly read your contract to see what is covered and what is not covered. If you decide you want to get your home warranty coverage through AHW, you should consider the Combo Plan for the most comprehensive coverage.
