Plans & Pricing
AHW Home Warranty offers three different coverage plans:
- Essential Appliances Plan – this plan covers eight of the most used and vital household appliances. The dishwasher, refrigerator, clothes dryer, freezer, trash compactor, oven, clothes washer, and microwave oven are all included in this plan. The Essential Appliances plan costs $42 a month, or $479 if you pay with one annual payment.
- Major Systems Plan – the Major Systems plan covers the eight essential systems within a home. The air conditioning, central heating, plumbing, electrics, hot water heater, ductwork, jetted bathtub, and the garage door is covered. This plan has the same pricing as the Essential Appliances plan, being $42 a month or $479 for the year paid in one lump sum.
- Combo Plan. The Combo plan combines the coverage provided by the Essential Appliances and Major Systems plans. In addition, the combo plan also provides cover for the garbage disposal, instant hot water dispenser, attic fan, ceiling fan, bathroom fan, doorbell, and kitchen fan/exhaust hood. The Combo plan costs $52 a month or $579 a year.
All of these prices are applicable to homes of less than 5,000 square feet. For homes greater than this, prices are around 20% extra.
AHW has a long list of optional items that you can add to your coverage for an extra cost. The optional items cost between $4.99 and $14.99 per item per month. Optional coverage is available for the following items:

We couldn’t see the home warranty pricing until you get to the purchase stage, so the pricing for optional coverage items is unclear when looking through the website. Contracts are twelve months long, and a home inspection is not required to get an AHW home warranty.
How to Get Started Amazon Home Warranty
The first step was simply to enter our zip code on the home page.
Having done this, we had to complete a simple form by entering a few personal details and providing our property information.
Doing so took us through to the plan selection page. We decided to choose the Combo plan to get the most items covered. We didn’t choose to cover any optional items. We hit ‘Continue to Step 3’ where we were taken through to the payment screen.
In total, it took less than five minutes to complete getting an AHW home warranty.

Privacy & Security
There is a detailed Privacy Policy on AHW’s website stating how your personal data is collected, used, and shared. The Policy also declares that you can opt out of communications at any time. We recommend that you read the privacy policy in full to understand your rights regarding how AHW treats your personal data.
Customer Support
AHW has a 24/7 customer care line, and you can also contact the company’s customer support team via an online form or email. While AHW’s online customer support reviews are mostly negative, our interaction with the sales representative we spoke to was good. The customer representative told us that a contractor would be in contact with us within 48 hours of informing AHW of an issue. Many online reviews refute this, stating that in many cases, it can be weeks until they are contacted. You can contact AHW through the following channels.
In Conclusion
Despite AHW’s chequered history in recent years and the poor service levels described by many online reviews, the company does offer a cheap home warranty. Plus, with a wide range of add-ons available should you have specific items that you wish to be under warranty, we recommend you do your research on AHW before applying for a warranty.
With the drawbacks slightly outweighing the positives, we would not recommend AHW, yet the final decision on obtaining a home warranty is yours to make.
