About CommonBond

In the decade that has followed since CommonBond’s inception in 2012, the company has processed over $3 billion of student loans. Frustrated by the difficulties in obtaining affordable student loans, CommonBond was formed by several MBA students. The company was notable for its commitment to social improvement, making donations of over $2.5m to fund educational improvements for underserved communities.

From July 2022, CommonBond is no longer offering private student loans as a product. The effects of the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic have led to the business closing after an attempt to rebrand as a loan provider for solar installation failed.
