Select Home Warranty enforces stricter requirements compared to many other companies regarding regular maintenance and record-keeping. In the absence of maintenance records and/or photographs, the maximum reimbursement for any appliance or system is capped at $150.

However, if maintenance records are available, heating and cooling systems are eligible for coverage up to a maximum of $2,000. To illustrate, if the cost of repairing the air conditioning unit amounts to $2,500, the customer would be responsible for covering the $500 difference.

Similarly, there is a $500 limit for electrical, plumbing, and appliance repairs or replacements. Optional add-on items are subject to individual $400 payout limits. The positive aspect is that there is no annual restriction on the number of covered repairs, which allows buyers to make the most of their home warranty.
